A Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home designed by famous architect Edward D. Pierre and built by Arnold Davis in 1951.

Using Mother Nature’s guidelines, Mr. Davis positioned this Mid-Century Modern home on a ridge top with a spectacular views of Mud Creek and the valley eighty feet below.

He also had acquired the adjacent parcel of land across the street to ensure that the unique setting of the house will not be compromised by encroaching developments.

The exterior has a contemporary look, blended with rustic features such as exposed post and beam and old brick on the interior. The exterior of the house is sheathed in three-quarter inch redwood with accents of oak wavy siding from Fox’s Sawmill in Brown County. All beams are old growth fir from Washington State.

The house also used passive solar gain for heat. The thermal pane windows in the family room are a full inch thick, unavailable today. The living room windows are also thermal pane half inch thick. Orientation of the house to the sun combined with proper over hangs utilizes nature to heat the home in the winter and keep it cool in the summer.

The kitchen was modernized with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and new cabinets New tile floors throughout.
